This great product manufactured by 3M will make your connections waterproof. Buy enough splices for your installation.

Generally 5 splices for the first 500 feet of wire, and one additional splice for each additional 500 feet of wire. This will leave you with a couple of spares in case of a mistake during installation. It never hurts to have spares for later.
