All I can say is that we have a totally different dog now that we are using this collar. Our dog is obedient as long as there are no distractions. He would get himself totally worked up and then lose control with chasing and barking. No one could walk past our house without this occurring. He would also get so excited that he would always jump on company. Him being very strong and over 50 pounds...it was hard for us to control him. We found ourselves leaving him inside a lot because his behavior was so bad. We took obedience classes twice and he did fine as long as nothing set him off...which was rare. We had to use the shock setting 5 to have any affect on him, but that was only for two days. (about 5 shocks total) Now he responds to the "beep" only. He can be outside without a leash...does not chase walkers or runners...and stops himself now before he gets distracted. We have had this product now for 4 weeks and we take him everywhere with us now with NO problems. We take the collar off at night and turn it off. The batteries are still the originals that it came with. We are enjoying our dog so much more and now he gets to be part of all of our family activities. I would reccommend this product to anyone with a "distracted" dog and I would have paid twice the price to get this result...we are just sorry we did not buy it sooner! I know our pup is thankful..and very tired!

This is a great product. It works very well as advertised. Our dog is a big baby and constantly gets remarks on how good he is. I have found (just like the others) that I have zapped him only about 5 times over three years! You must use the warning sound though. My shephard/akita mix immediately identifies the noise with something bad if he doesn't cease. Now he doesn't go after other dogs that are being walked down the street or even leave the yard for that matter. Battery life is terrible and you will go through quite a few if you forget to turn it off at night. Even now all I have to do is get his attention and show him the remote. While very well made, I'm on my second one after losing one of the electrodes on the collar and severing the antennae as a result. Definitely make sure the electrodes are tight. I have found range to only be around 40 yards at best. It would be five stars if not for battery life and range.

We have been using the training collar for the last two weeks and couldn't be happier!! Our 8 month old, 50 pound, labradoodle pup is a different dog! We've not had to raise the level over 2 and often use only the vibration to redirect her. She is no longer the Alpha in our family. She actually seems more relaxed and happier that she doesn't have to be "in charge"! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the training collar to any dog owner who was as frustrated with living with a large, stubborn, smart puppy like ours was... thanks!

This collar is ok for leash or inside training, but does not have 100 yard range. My guess is no more than 15 yards. My 7 mo Dobie is well schooled on basic commands except when he is off leash. At 25 yards he either ignored the #10 shock or it didn't reach that range. Not good for a strong willed stubborn dog.

It works just like it says that it does. You have to make your dog anticipate the schock. I have only used it at the #5 setting and only a few times, BUT ALWAYS used the Tone before it while verbally warning my dog that it would be followed by the electric jolt. I tried it on myself at 10 and it will not harm an animal. Now she reacts to the tone, manticipating the shock that never comes. good product. There were many complaints about battery life . You MUSTbe religious about turning the collar off.. Dennis
