I'm having the same problem as Dick in keeping the collar centered on my dog's larynx. Somehow she gets it moved off to the right. I can't tell if the collar is working on her because she doesn't stop barking if another dog walks by our yard. I'll keep using it and hope I start to see an improvement in her barking. I'll repost later.

No learning curve with this collar. Bought 2, one for a 25 lb dog and one for a 17lb dog. Had no trouble fitting them on. My one dog, who is an hysterical barker with no off switch, barked once and never did it again. The other dog, a terrier, barked 4 or 5 times, figured out that the unpleasant correction was triggered by her bark, and never did it again. A couple of cons though. The collar moves on their necks when they shake their heads or when they are tied outside on a zip line. The correction unit is then no longer in place to react to the vibration/sound combo which triggers the correction. Also, one of the unit's battery died after only 3 hours, even though the collar was removed and shut off when the dogs came back in the house. Also, the unit has to be turned on with a coin or screwdriver, which is pretty inconvenient. Mfg recommends putting the collar on the dog and then turning it on, which is difficult on a small dog as you have to almost lay on the ground to see the settings at that point.

Lots of separation anxiety in our "schnoodle"; he barked constantly when we would leave him alone and the neighbors complained. But no complaints since we began t use the PetSafe bark control collar. And he seems more relaxed when we come home. Highly recommend!

The bark collar worked well. Our schnauzer is only able to get two barks out before the collar kicks. Thereafter, he does not attempt to bark. We take the collar off when in the house and at night. The only design challenge we have, is keeping the collar centered on the larynx -- it has a tendency to shift around to the right side of his neck. It still works in this position. And the fellow dog owners at our local dog bark are impressed.

I really liked this collar untill it came time to change the battery and found that you cant just go buy it at a regular store. It's a build in removeable battery that is glued into it's casing
