Product Description
The PetSafe Indoor Wireless Cat Fence includes a transmitter and a 5-level programmable Cat Safety Collar. You simply place the disk-shaped transmitter near the area you want to protect and then adjust the range anywhere between 2 and 10 feet. The transmitter plugs into a standard outlet and emits a radio signal that is sent to your cat's receiver collar. Your cat will be alerted as he nears the boundary of the containment area. The Indoor Wireless Cat Fence can be used to contain multiple cats as long as each is wearing a receiver collar.

Works perfectly. Our energetic Abyssinian cat would love nothing more than to head out the back door with our dogs, but unfortunately he has gone over the fence several times in the past. I purchased this system a year ago and it has been a lifesaver. I played around with the correction levels and found that he needed the highest one to keep him in check. When he receives a shock he just turns around and leaves the zone, but he doesn't act like he's in a lot of pain. It's just enough of a correction to make him think twice about challenging the doors. No more yelling, using squirt bottles, or chasing him around outside. I do have to keep the collar on him all the time and have a supply of batteries on hand because when the battery dies it only takes him a few days to figure it out. Overall, I am very happy with the product.

I Love Love Love this item! I have a beautiful balinese cat that I adore, however I do not adore him in my kitchen, bedroom or bathroom (he likes to unravel the toilet paper!). I have numerous disks that I put in all the areas I don't want him to go into; the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, behind the television, on my desk, in the closets and near the basement door. He still has free roam of the house, only he cannot go into specific areas. These have been a lifesaver for me since I was constantly having to chase him from these areas and constantly cleaning up after him. A few friends have seen these and have bought them also for their dogs and cats. On the issue with transmitting through walls, make sure the you put the disk on the floor on the first floor and put them up high on the second floor to prevent the signal going through the floors and ceilings. And don't forget to keep a supply of batteries on hand!!

After four years, my cat decided it would start going out my doggy door. I did not want my cat to roam outside. I went on-line and found the indoor wireless cat fence. I hated to have my cat get shocked but that was much better than his getting hurt or killed being outside. It only took a few minutes for him to learn this boundries. I have been using the fence for three months and it is wonderful. My cat had never worn a collar but excepted this one with no complaints. The only drawback that I can see is the bulkiness of the collar. It evidently bothers me more than my cat. I do close my cat off in the bedroom at night and remove the collar to give his neck a rest. I would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to secure their cat.

About 4 months ago we bought a beautiful 8'x10' wool rug for our family room. We have all wood floors which we love but needed some warmth in the large room. Unfortunately my black persian cat decided that she would use this as her personal bathroom. Once she started there was nothing I could do to stop her. I am the cat lover, my husband is not, and things got to the point where it looked like she had to go. Luckily I found your product on-line and after cleaning the rug and two days of training, all is well. Mies stays out of the zoned area in the family room so far without incident. The only side effect is that our bedroom is directly above the family room, and the radio signal goes through the ceiling and up there as well, so no more furry face to greet me in the morning. A small price to pay!

I'm going to try and be as specific as possible because although seeing 5 star reviews is appealing, having pro's & cons can help you make your decision better. First off, the collar pictured is actually model# PIG00-11006, which gives you the 1 warning tone, and 4 incremental shocks (user selectable). As for product performance, I give it a 5, the design however, could use improvement. Petsafe decided to go with a Nylon collar which is approximately 1" wide. I find that for my cat which is currently 8 months and weighs approx 10 lbs, looks a little uncomfortable on him. The nylon catches his hair and he constantly scratches at the collar fraying the nylon. After adjusting the collar a dozen + times and checking to make sure he can still feel the "discipline shock", I put electrical tape on the inside of the nylon collar so the nylon doesn't cat his hair, this seems to have corrected the scratching problem. The probes on the collar are approximately 1/2" long and have a plastic grommet that they sit on. Behind the plastic grommet is the nylon collar itself which is held in place by the grommets & probe. The plastic grommets in my opinion could have been designed better as they sit about 1/8" off the receiver collar and have slightly sharp edges, again, allowing hair to get caught there. This also allows the nylon collar to have a little play. All in all, this is a GREAT product and am very satisfied with it. The transceiver emits a spherical (not flat) signal so if you placed this product on a higher surface, your cat would still react as he approaches it. After exhausting all other options, I purchased this product to keep my cat off and away from my piano. I may eventually get another transceiver for other parts of the house, but since the transceiver is about $60, and the collar is another $100, it only makes more sense to buy another complete set.
