his door has done an excellent job of keeping out the cold winter air. We had an older single flap dog door system before and there was always a draft in the winter time. This dog door has solved the draft problem nicely. We have had a very cold winter and other than the draft when the dog uses the door you would never know it was there. It is so much better than the old dog door. I would recommend this dog door to anyone living in the North.
