The Petmate 24240 Le Bistro Portion Control Pet Feeder allows you to provide your cat or dog with regularly-timed meals even when you can't be there. It holds 10 pounds of dry food and can dispense 1/4 to 3-cup servings up to three times a day. The timer is set by simply programming the current time and programming the desired meal times and amount of food for each meal. The Le Bistro Portion Control Feeder can handle most dry foods up to 3/4"" in diameter. The food container and hopper should be washed with warm, soapy water and a cloth, while the detachable bowl is dishwasher-safe.

Food dispensing triggers other than set times. Not sure if this is because the correct amount of food does not drop at the set times. It has a feature that the "MEAL" will flash if the set amount of food does not dispense entirely; however, I have not had time to wait around to watch and see if this is what happens. Also, my little schnauzer is smart enough to remove the detachable bowl, drag the device around and paw for extra food. I had the same problem with the older model that was smaller did not have a detachable bowl.

Food dispensing system works fine...but the unit doesn't lock together well. It only took a couple of days for my dog to push it around enough to make it come apart and she ate her fill. She is not a large dog.
