4 Luv of Dog Rescue

4 Luv of Dog Rescue, located in Fargo, ND is our July Pet Rescue of the Month. This pet rescue and adoption facilitator is dedicated to rescuing dogs from local pounds that are on the verge of being put down due to lack of space. They are committed to finding loving homes for dogs of all breeds, ages and health conditions. The rescue is operated 100% by volunteers. No one staffed by 4 Luv of Dog Rescue is paid.

4 Luv of Dog Rescue does not have a physical shelter where the dogs are housed. A few of their dogs are cared for at local boarding facilities, but the majority of their dogs are placed into foster homes. A foster home is temporary housing for these dogs. The foster parents provide the shelter, the love and the daily care, while 4 Luv of Dog Rescue provides the food, medical care and other necessities. A foster parent can expect to have a foster dog in their home anywhere from a few days to a few months, although most dogs are with their foster families for several weeks.

Foster families are very important. Not only are you saving a dog and giving him/her a second chance at life, but you’re helping that dog learn to love and trust humans again. When it is time to be adopted into a forever home, the foster families are crucial in the screening process of potential adopters. Who would know the needs of a foster dog better than the family that has cared for him or her for weeks or months?

Currently 4 Luv of Dog Rescue is looking for some new foster families. With local pounds filling up, dogs are being euthanized simply because they need to make room for the incoming dogs. To save more dogs, they need the dog lovers of the Fargo community to apply to become a foster family. They do try to match your needs and criteria to those of the dog, so you can both have a wonderful experience.
